Classroom Example
In my final professional semester at the University of Lethbridge I began implementing puzzles and inquiry into my mathematics classes. Below is a snapshot of what this looked like in a grade 4 classroom. While I had been implementing some of these activities and processes since the beginning of my practicum, once I decided to work on this project I had the students complete a short assessment of their flexible thinking level - this gave me a baseline of where the students were at in terms of flexible thinking and willingness to try new things that they may not know how to solve right away.
